ATHLETE  TESTIMONIALS

ESLSJBTNBMYOMFI

When I began working with Rob I had one main thing I wanted to work on which was my back row.

Before working with Rob I was a complete liability in the back row and was not consistent at all.

After taking just a few months of lessons with Rob I was able to notice a huge difference and starting that next year I became a starting six rotation player on my school’s varsity team.

Without Rob’s help I would have never been able to play all 6 rotations consistently.

I can’t thank him enough for all he did for me !

I started taking lessons from Rob at the age of 12, and he molded me into an amazing athletic volleyball player, pushing me to my limits.

Through his teachings, he has impacted my life outside the realm of volleyball.

I was not born to be an olympic athlete-- that is not my calling-- but because of him I grew as a person and learned more than I ever thought a mere sport could teach me.

I couldn’t have asked for a better coach.

When I train with Rob I am always sweating at the end after a hard workout and getting lots of reps in.

He addresses what you want to work on and gives me many pointers that I need to help me improve as a player.

Every time I go train with Rob I come out more confident and more powerful.

I have loved working with him.

Rob has been helping me improve my volleyball skills ever since I was in middle school.

I first started going to Rob with my older sister when she was playing for Invasion.  I attended Rob’s summer Force One camp and had many individual and partner sessions with him.  Each time I met with Rob he helped me develop new skills and add more shots to “my arsenal.”

Rob was always positive – he made me want to get better.  He encouraged me to try new techniques and helped me work at reaching my volleyball potential.  Rob’s assistance went beyond the court as he gave me suggestions on club teams and colleges to consider.

Rob is a wonderful trainer and I am thankful I had the opportunity to learn from him.  I would recommend him highly to anyone wanting to be a better volleyball player.

Rob Kaleikau has been more than another contributor to my volleyball 'career'.  He transformed my game in every aspect.   From fundamental serving and defensive skills to quick reaction time and fast anticipation of the ball, he truly brought me where I am today.

Last year we worked together on a regular basis, twice a week, and it completely changed the way I play the game.  Not only does he keep his players moving and constantly in contact with the ball, but he also explains everything so clear.  I have never been taught by someone quite like him.

His outlook on the game is very understandable and the way he describes things not only makes sense in your head, but also registers so well with your game and execution.  For example, when I was really struggling with my passing form, he broke down my platform in three pieces: high, medium, and low.  Passing with a high platform causes a shorter, higher pass and a low platform allows for a longer, lower pass.  Although it seems pretty basic, the actual explanation made so much sense in my head and having someone really talk-out the elements of the game and show you why what does this and what does that helped A LOT.

Rob Kaleikau has taught me everything from fundamental passing stance to intricate methods of defense.  He opens your eyes to all the ways you can play the ball from any position off of anything that may come over the net.

He is an encouraging, smart coach and stepped up my game immensely.  The drills we do and the huge amount of reps you get improves your game incredibly.  He teaches you how to do everything from how to hit the floor to precise serving techniques to how to get some great kills even if you're only 5'6".

Rob's passion for volleyball rubs off on all his players and gives them not only a drive to work hard, but a great deal of noticeable improvement.

Thanks again for all you helped me with Rob !!

Rob’s private lessons helped me in many skills.

I came to him for passing and he figured out what was wrong and helped me fix my passing within 2 lessons. He is very friendly and his lessons are fun to go to. He gets to know who you are so it’s easier to talk to him.

I am glad I got private lessons from him because it has really paid off in the long run because I ended up receiving a scholarship from the University of Central Missouri to play.

Working with Rob Kaleikau has really improved my overall game.

I have been training with Rob since my freshman year in high school, and since then my abilities have transformed tremendously. As a right-side hitter and a DS, Rob has taught me many techniques and skills to elevate me to the next level. Thanks to Rob, I am able to pursue my dream of playing college volleyball.

Training with Rob has really helped boost my self-confidence. His belief in me and the amount of fun I have training with him just reinforces the fact it was all well worth the time and effort.

Rob has been able to work with me on my attack approach. He has helped me to stay behind the ball, which has increased my overall power and my ability to put the ball where I want it to go on the court.  He has also taught me how to adjust to different sets – both imperfect and accurate – and still hit the ball successfully.

Additionally, Rob has improved my defensive skills. I can better “read” various situations and react quickly to make proficient passes on a more consistent basis.

Rob is able to see my faults and make me improve upon them. I am also able to take the things I learned from Rob in the gym to my game on the court; self-correcting and being mentally aware of myself as a player has helped me reach my full potential in competition.

I really believe that without Rob I wouldn’t be where I am today; a player who has confidence in herself to be the best she can be when she steps out on the floor of the court.

Rob -

Thank you so much for everything you’ve done for me these past several years.

My level of play has improved vastly to where it is today thanks to you and your training.  You have given me confidence on the court and taught me how to self-correct so that I can constantly be improving my level of play.

Your direct but kind and always encouraging style of coaching always creates a comfortable environment for me.

Thank you so much for the time and effort that you’ve put into helping me be a successful athlete.

Starting out, I was just an average volleyball player (my first year of club I was on a 3’s team); but I loved volleyball and really wanted to play for my high school team.

I realized that I needed to improve my game or I wouldn’t make it.  So, I began taking private training lessons with Rob during the spring of my freshman year.  Not only did I make the high school team, but I was able to achieve 1st Team All League my senior year.

Rob is such a great teacher.  He would break down every skill for me and explain every detail.  He would also explain what I should be thinking about and how to react to different situations.

After I started working with Rob, my school and club coaches started complimenting me on my footwork, on reading blocks, etc.  He is also very positive.  He always lets you know when you’re doing things right; but if you screw up, he just encourages you to “stay with it.”

He always asks me what my goals are, what I think I need to work on, and if I have any questions.

He has taught me so much that will help me in my volleyball career; and he has always been there with the next set of skills that I need to go to the next level.

I did not start volleyball until my 8th grade year and had a lot of catching up to do.

I decided to go to Rob's skills training program where he taught me for 3 years. He started with the basics until I mastered each skill. He then developed me to an advanced level by focusing on very specialized aspects of the game.

He was a great coach, mentor, and advocate.

He helped me compete at the Varsity and club level in high school and also helped me get recruited as a Division I college volleyball player.

Rob -

Thank you so much for helping me over the years become the player I am today.

When I started coming to you I was very rough around the edges and you really improved my technique and over-all attitude towards the game.

I love how you taught me to not only become a more dynamic player, but how you were able to show me how to correct my mistakes on my own. It really helped me become more coachable and during games I was able to realize what adjustments needed to be made.

I now am starting Varsity at Saint Teresa's Academy and I really do owe it to you.

You helped me become a better player and teammate throughout the years and I can't thank you enough! Thanks again.

Rob,

You have a special way of training, never loud but so very effective.  You gave me the ability to self-correct, thinking back I would say that is the biggest gift you could have given me.

You taught me to understand what causes my errors and then the skill to successfully make the appropriate adjustment.  With you I learned things like, blocking is not defensive but an offensive move, how to become an effective attacker, how to read my opponents and numerous other skills.  Your method of training helped me in my confidence and abilities as a player, for all of that I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart.

In the spring of "2012" I will leave St. Thomas Aquinas High School, Invasion Volleyball Club and head south to the University of Georgia.  I will always remember you saying, "hang in there."  It was your way of saying not right yet, but you can get it.  I am sure there will be a huge adjustment playing college volleyball but I am going to remember your words "hang in there Meg" and when I get it, I will hear you say "Good Job Meg, just right".

Thank you to a world class trainer.  I am lucky to have had you in my corner!

Rob Kaleikau has transformed the way I play volleyball.

I started coming to Rob at a younger age and did his skills camps and knew that in order to achieve a high level of volleyball, he was the guy to get me there. He has helped me so much with hitting and blocking as a middle hitter. It goes beyond hitting and blocking.

Rob instills confidence in me as a player. He is always encouraging and always wants you to do your best. He has also braved the task of teaching me how to pass. All of the training has really helped because I am no longer questioning my ability to pass a ball.

It has meant a lot to me that he has helped me and given me the reps and coaching I have needed to be at the high level I am today.

Thank you so much Rob!! You have really helped me understand the game and the things I need to do to be successful!
